AviationGeorge Bush Intercontinental Airport

As project manager, Mr. Overman orchestrated all design and construction phase services at George Bush Intercontinental Airport/Houston to rehabilitate and improve the physical integrity of Runway 8-26, parallel Taxiway NA, and eight connecting taxiways.

The project included extending Taxiway NB 1,500 feet to the east and implementing the initial phase of the North Complex detention basin and drainage ditch improvements.

The CAT III Runway 8-26 was essential to Continental Airlines’ hubbing procedures, and reconstruction options were evaluated against nominal interruptions to operations. The project required that the runway remain open for daytime operations throughout the rehabilitation of the runway, parallel taxiway, and widening of the exit taxiway fillets.
