AviationDestin-Fort Walton Beach Airport

As principal-in-charge, Mr. Overman led the consultant team that executed the planning, design, and construction of the terminal expansion program in Okaloosa County.

The final terminal is approximately 110,700 square feet of modern airport space. Full airport-related services were incorporated, including ticketing, baggage, and passenger screening, a concourse area, baggage claim, and retail space. The final design included a two-level concourse: the lower area has three ramp-level boarding gates to be used for the airport’s regional service, and the second level has three passenger boarding bridge gates to service larger aircraft as needed.

Location
Okaloosa County, Florida

After an extensive review of construction phasing options, Okaloosa County chose to build the new terminal directly behind the existing terminal, while maintaining full operations. The consultant team developed a system of covered passenger walkways that allowed the airlines to board aircraft without delaying construction.
